Bible Verse Journals

Why Bible Verse Journals Are Popular

Specific Bible verses have been loved throughout the ages.
People have often made reference to a "favorite Bible verse"
that was special to them in some way or another.

Bible Verses Are the Basis of our Faith in Christ

The Apostle Paul wrote to Timothy these words:
"From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which
are able to make you wise for salvation through faith,
which is in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 3:15 WEB)

For many of us, we understand why some Bible verses
are loved and prized above others, because those verses
introduced us to Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

So it is in keeping a Bible verse journal, those most loved
passages of Scripture that made us wise unto salvation become
the focus of our journal entries as we celebrate God's grace
in our lives.

"All have sinned and are not good enough to share God's
divine greatness. They are made right with God by His grace.
This is a free gift. They are made right with God by being
made free from sin through Jesus Christ." (Romans 3:23-24 ERV);

In that same passage of Scripture, the Apostle Paul wrote
these words to Timothy:
"Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in
righteousness, that each person who belongs to God
may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
(2 Timothy 3:16-17 WEB)

Bible verses that become favorites are chosen because
of a positive and beneficial teaching on how to please God.

Bible Verses Reveal to Us Our Heavenly Father,
Leading Us to Worship and Praise.

"Praise the LORD! He has heard my prayer for mercy. The LORD
is my strength and shield. I trusted Him with all my heart.
He helped me, so I am happy. I sing songs of praise to Him."
(Psalms 28:6-7 ERV)

"Praise the LORD! Give thanks to the LORD because He is good!
His faithful love will last forever! No one can describe how
great the LORD really is. No one can praise Him enough."
(Psalms 106:1-2 ERV)

Bible Verses Express to Us God's Wonderful Promises:

"We must hold on to the hope we have, never hesitating to
tell people about it. We can trust God to do what He promised."
(Hebrews 10:23 ERV)

"Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the
world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled,
neither let it be fearful." (John 14:27 WEB)

"Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father
and from His Son, Jesus Christ, as we live in truth and love."
(2 John 1:3 ERV)

Leave a Legacy of Faith by Journaling About
Your Favorite Bible Verses

Bible Verse Journals often tell a story of how a specific
promise of God was claimed, describing the process that
verse became personal for them in their faith Journey.

Sharing with future generations can be achieved by
keeping journals that focus on your spiritual journey.

A written journal can be passed on to future generations.
They can hold a journal in their hands as they read
its content. Perhaps your Bible Verse Journal will be
first time they hear about God our Heavenly Father
and Jesus Christ, the Son of God, your Lord and Savior!

You Can Tell Your Personal Faith Story
through Journals

Journaling is the closest method that we can use to tell
the miracles of God, one generation to another.

By journaling you can fulfill what Psalms 78 instructs
regarding future generations:

Psalms 78:4-7 ISV
(4) We will not withhold them from their descendants;
we'll declare to the next generation the praises of
the LORD -- His mighty and awesome deeds that He has
performed.

(5) He established a decree in Jacob, and established
the Law in Israel, that he commanded our ancestors to
reveal to their children (6) in order that the next
generation -- children yet to be born -- will know
them and in turn teach them to their children.

(7) Then they will put their trust in God and they will
not forget His awesome deeds. Instead, they will keep
His commandments.

Proclaim the Good News of the Gospel
through Your Journals

Journaling taps the power of personal story. In fact it's
God's mandate that we tell our faith stories to the next
generation.

There is so much we don't know about those closest to us,
information that will be lost if not recorded. In fact, many
adult children cannot tell how their parents came to faith in
Christ.

That means we need to creatively capture the faith stories for
future generations.

Perhaps your Bible Verse Journals will be the means God uses
to bring them to faith in Jesus, whereby they also accept Him
as their Lord and Savior!
